Tirupati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said it is their responsibility to protect the sanctity of Tirumala, the world-famous holy place and provide full protection to the devotees.

Inaugurating the new District Police Office here, he said it is the responsibility of the police to provide a sense of security to the devotees coming from all over the country. The Chief Minister along with Home Minister V. Anitha inaugurated the new District Police Office built with state-of-the-art facilities.

Naidu later wrote his comments in the visitor's book there. Earlier, he received a salute from the police force. It is suggested to use technology to control crime, conduct patrolling through drones and collect visual evidence. He made it clear that the police should be able to think more than the criminals.

The Chief Minister said that the police should act smarter than the criminals. In this regard, the Chief Minister called to follow the policy of visible policing and invisible policing by stepping up surveillance systems and using new technologies. He also ordered the police to take measures to protect the sanctity of this area where Sri Venkateswara Swamy, the Vaikunta of Kali Yuga, is located. On the occasion of Vaikuntha Ekadashi, the police force has been directed to be on high alert. Devotees are advised to take care not to cause any inconvenience or untoward incidents. The Chief Minister warned that there is no question of compromising on law and order in the State and called for initiating stringent action against hooligans and rowdies.
